All Gone

Demolisher's finally finished on Tuesday! 3 weeks it took....Not happy Jan!
We were told a week, admittedly they started on the Monday looks like they did some stuff on the Tuesday and then it rained for the rest of the week, Monday was a public holiday and Tuesday and Wednesday it rained the following week...come Thursday and Friday no sign of any work it was cold and a little overcast but it was not raining! Its Monday again and still no one on site (I have to go past our block twice a day to drop off and pick up my son from school, also my husband goes past on his way home from work around lunch time, we got constant surveillance on that place lol). Tuesday Nothing as well, we made a phone call after that (we are incredibly patient people, but enough is enough!) Wednesday, Thursday and Friday they were there but alias they didn't get to finish the job. I am sure they started at 8 and finished at 3! Monday AGAIN!!! No one to be seen another phone call, the job got finished the next day....Looks like they did a good job however there still seems to be a few roots in the ground at the front and side of the block, I hope that won't matter? Would I recommend these guys ABSOLUTELY NOT, and the reason being not entirely based on it taking so long, but for not having the decency to keep us informed about what they were up to!

On a Happy Note our site supervisor has our file and is organising site cut....YIPPPEEEEE!

The walls came tumbling down

Well after months of getting things sorted, we are finally getting things started. All our trees were removed last weekend and the demolition team turned up on monday. Unfortunately bad weather meant that no work was done on Thursday and Friday, but the forecast for the rest of the week looks good, so hopefully all will be done by the end of the week and ready to start construction.

Day 2 of demolition

I thought that maybe seeing the house being pulled to pieces would upset me, seeing we raised our babies here...However I am so glad to see the mould ridden, freezing cold/stinking hot cramped house go.

Time to move

We have decided it is time to move, Council should be all done within the next few weeks and we really need this time to pack up and get out!
We found a place on Friday and get the keys next week, I am feeling so overwhelmed by how much I have to do. I started packing months ago however this house is so small I had to stop at some point as I had no where to put boxes without feeling like I was living in the middle of a lego building. At least the house we are moving to is big enough to store the stuff we don't need as well as live comfortably.

A council clean up or 2 will be required as well as a skip bin, I AM FREAKING OUT HERE!

This how it feels right now

Waiting for our Contracts…….exciting!

Not a lot to report, we have signed off on our colours after making a few tweaks and filled out the paperwork for the council, we have decided on who will do our demolition and cut down our trees (more council paperwork to be filled out) we are also in the process of sorting our landscape plan and now we are waiting on our contract hopefully ready by the end of next week!

I am aware that our local council is a little slow when signing off on paperwork but I really do hope that it doesn't take too long I am now ready (well almost …Still have a house of stuff to sort, throw out and pack, and to find a place to live!)

We still need to get an official quote for the floorboards which is difficult when no one will tell us how many square metres of floor we will have left after taking off the wet areas (So far this is the only thing that has annoyed me, I am not sure what the big deal is and why MDJ won't tell us …rant over!) of course we can take the plans to our floor guy and he should be able to estimate it, but it would be much easier if we already knew!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New year, Being in the industry that I am in I worked over the holiday break and am now officially on holidays for a couple of weeks (Yay) so will have plenty of time to get myself organised and up to date with paper work, and spend some quality time yelling at the kids (just kidding I am sure we will do some fun stuff too)

here is hoping that our paperwork will be into council before the end of the month!

TiMBeeeeeeeR

TREES TREES TREES…..yep we have a lot! I am thinking that these beautiful trees have to go, yes! yes they do!

I actually feel very sad about this, I Love them but they are in the way and I promise as soon as I can I will plant more but this time I will make sure they are all native and not have a ridiculous root system. One of the trees we have has a very large root system and to me this is a worry.
We have to get them removed, who does this the tree guy or the people who demolish and clear the block?

I feel my stress levels elevating with every little or big thing that has to be decided upon ARRRGGGHHH!!! I am today having a particular bad day and days like these I think what the hell have I got myself into.

Anyway if anyone has any recommendations on Demolition people or tree people that would be great I guess the best place to start is with quotes.
